There Was an Old Sailor by Claire Saxby by Cassandra Allen

There Was an Old Sailor by Claire Saxby by Cassandra Allen will be published on March 1, 2014. This is an advance review of this story.
There Was Old Sailor is a new spin on the classic "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly”. The sailor swallows a krill; he doesn’t want to get ill so he swallows a jellyfish to catch the krill. Then one swallow leads to another. As each thing he swallows gets bigger and bigger.
I enjoy read this new take on "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” as it’s a favorite of mine. I found the new rhymes a joy to read. Furthermore, the illustrations are a great part of this book and were a pleasure to look at while reading. In addition, to this story at the end of this book there are fish facts about the sea creatures that the old sailor had swallowed. The joys of new rhymes will fill the air with laughter. As well make the children wonder what the old sailor will swallow next. Children who love rhymes and the sea will enjoy this story.

Legends of Oz by Denton J. Tipton and Blair Shedd

Legends of Oz by Denton J. Tipton and Blair Shedd. It will be published on March 18, 2014. This is an advance review of this book. Based on the animated film Legends of Oz! This child’s comics are for all ages. The story follows the characters after Dorothy leaves. The characters didn’t know that trouble was on its way and they would need Dorothy back to help save the day. As the classic characters the Lion, the Tinman and the Scarecrow goes on the hunt to bring Dorothy back. As the wicked witch of the west’s brother, Jester has come and he’s nothing but trouble. The flying monkey and Jester is causing trouble all over as the book takes you to on a journey. Since this is a comic/ graphic book a main part of the story is told just by the illustrations which are a huge part to understanding the story. The illustrations are perfect in this story; brightly colored, emotions in the characters, and has a way how showing what is happing in a way that is wonderful and easy to understand,
I enjoyed this story more then I thought I was. I found giggles here and there as I read it to my brother. I loved the illustrations and how the characters just popped right out. The story line was good; it has adventure but was also quite funny. Any Oz fan of any age will enjoy this new take on an amazing classic.

This was a story that I would enjoy reading over and over. This is a cute story that has a meaning that teaches children only take what you need. The story line shows that taking just want you need and sharing is the way to live. The illustrations are good; colors follow right with the story. Little kids will enjoy the adventure that Michael Recyle and his fish friends take you on into the colorful sea story.

A New Life: Life of Recovery by Samantha Jacobey

Book Review: Samantha Jacobey

5 Star Review: Action packed, Fun, Mind-Blowing

A New Life: Life of Recovery by Samantha Jacobey, Tori’ story is one of the best I have read in a long time.

Samantha wrote this to capture the readers’ attention into a world made for Tori and she did that and more. Samantha can show a story-line that is created through great talent and excellence of writing shows her abilities to create an adventure, action packed story that continues to grow through out the book

As, Samantha builds the character of Tori slowly in her book, Tori has horrible flashbacks of her childhood with a motorcycle gang that has tormented and abused her. During Tori’s recovery, your heart will break as you read about each flashback and a smile will form on your face as Tori learns and accepts that she is finally free from Eddie and his gang, and while Tori learns what real love is through the companionship of a detective.

Samantha’s book is definitely a book I would recommend to all readers that enjoy a book that leads you on an adventurous, shadowy, dark past of a young girl. Can’t wait to read the next chapter of Tori’s life!

LEGO Space: Building the Future

LEGO Space: Building the Future Pub Date   Nov 4 2013. By Peter Reid and Tim Goddard. Is about the story of the Federation, their explorations and most of all space! This story is a good read that space lovers will enjoy of many ages. But this is not just a story. This book also has building instructions. You’ll learn how to build satellite, spaceships, and many other space things. The instructions are easy to follow and understand. With in this story you can also learn about real space facts as well.

For me I would have to say I enjoy the photos and illustrations in the book. They’re nice and slick. They are not over crowding but show what is happening in the story or what is being talked about. I’m not a huge fan of this kind of space but my seven year old brother enjoyed it. He loves LEGO’s and space so this was great for him. This book is perfect for any Lego and/or outer space fan.

I, Win by Win Kelly Charles

“I, Win by Win Kelly Charles; is such an inspirational story about Win’s life, the challenges she faces on a daily basis with CP, but what is most inspirational is her outlook on life. Win teaches so many valuable lessons in her autobiography that I know many of us could learn from her. In her book she states several times, that “Every one of us has a disability, whether it’s visible or not;” a true lesson that we all could learn from.

I would recommend this book to everyone to read and learn from one the most inspirational young ladies I have ever met.

Inspirational, sweet, loving

~ Author JD Franx ~ The Darkness Within Saga Prologue: Sins of the Past

JD created such a world full of magic and fantasy that as a reader took me on this huge adventure from witches, to pirates, to different gods and goddesses through every aspect of the different dimensional levels of worlds that a mind could imagine.

The building of characters was unbelievable, each one carry different emotions and kept me guessing on what was going to happen from each turning point in the novella.

This storyline grasped my attention and held it to the end. JD wrote an excellent novella to a book that I will definitely be buying when he finishes the rest of the story.

JD is an amazing author that has created a whole new world of fantasy and magic!

~Author Elle Klass~ Baby Girl

Elle Klass is a great author who takes her readers on an adventurous love story.

“Baby Girl Book 1 by Elle Klass was an exciting, intriguing and a wonderful story-line. Ella Klass wrote this story to capture the reader’s attention and she did just that. Couldn't stop reading until the end where it leaves the reader wondering what is going to happen in Book 2 to Cleo, the main character who obviously is the character that every reader will fall in love with and captures the heart of everyone.

“Long Tail, Short Tail,” written by Rachael A. Snead

“Long Tail, Short Tail,” written by Rachael A. Snead illustrated by Laurie Barrows. Rachael Snead is a children’s author and poet who lives in Virginia with her husband and adopted son; who’s her source of her creative ideas. She is also a member of the Virginia Writer’s Club.
Mama Chipmunk tells the story of how their Little Squirrel how he/she became a part of their family. How they had what Little Squirrel needed to live a happy life; which is what Mama Squirrel wanted. The book says, “You are my brown baby and I am your grey Mama. I have a long tail and you have a short tail. You have black eyes and I have brown eyes and I will love you ‘till the end of forever.” Talking about how they are different but they love each other no matter what. In the story Papa Chipmunk tells the little Squirrel that it’s okay to be upset and mad. And the Little Squirrel is, but then becomes happy. The illustrations are colorful and well done. They show emotions that children can see and understand. The illustrations show what the writer is telling.
Reading “Long Tail, Short Tail” was a joy. I loved the sweetness in this story. It’s a story that I believe adopted children would love and can understand. Children can relate to and know that they are loved by both sides in this story. The colors in the story work well with the words being read. It’s lovable, cute chipmunk and squirrel story that children of many ages will enjoy hearing.

Fury (The Fury Trilogy, #1) By Elizabeth Miles

Fury (The Fury Trilogy, #1) By Elizabeth Miles 370 pages, Published August 30th 2011.
Takes place in a small town in Maine over winter break. Emily likes a guy who happens to be dating her best friend. So when he starts noticing her. She’s becomes split in half; half happy that he is finally noticing her but guilty and ashamed because he’s dating her best friend.
While this is happing on the other side of the small town, Chase is dealing with a hard home life and his social life is unraveling. He knows one mess up and he’ll be at the bottom. On top of that Chase has done something cruel, wrong.
Three mysterious girls shows up to make the choice of who will pay, Emily, the girl who’s betraying her friend or Chase the one who did something wrong? So who will pay?
This book was an okay read. At first I got into it but after a bit I just found myself not really in to it. Maybe, it’s just an off book. I like the ideas behind it but I don’t read many books that have to do with ‘ghost’ kind of things. I think it would have better read if there wasn’t so much going at one; it was hard to follow. Then some parts would be slow. I give it a three out of five.
