Blog Tour & Giveaway - Refractions of Frozen Time

Book Blurb

"Refractions of Frozen Time" finds the Brightstars, your favorite space-faring family, more separated than ever before. Laren is in the process of being exiled to the galaxy's ultimate security prison onboard an automated spacecraft. Creena, her little brother, Deven, and her mother, Sharra, remain in the Caverns, while Dirck and Win report to the Clique base at Apoca Canyon.

Deven discovers a new crystal which, combined with cristobalite, unlocks the portal between Local and Universal time, offering the potential Creena has been looking for to reunite the family at last. There's one problem, however. Teleporting results in the correct location but the arrival time seems to be random, which has risky implications. Before she can unravel the mystery, however, Integrator commandos find their underground hideout, forcing a harrowing escape loaded with unexpected consequences. Believing they're permanently lost, the dark and lonely days that follow change Dirck forever as fate plays out a hand dealt on Earth years before, ultimately revealing the crystals' incredible secret.

Onboard the Bezarna Express, Laren's efforts to exploit the ship's dirty little secret backfire, putting him more at risk than ever before, his survival dependent on ground intervention. Little does he know that the solution has been with him all along, quietly lurking in a device that operates strictly on the principle "If you don't ask, you don't get." Meanwhile, Augustus Troy, Laren's long-time nemesis, gains more power than ever before coupled with being armed with a weapon capable of wiping out anyone opposed to his despotic goals.

Do the Brightstars have what it takes to survive much less prevail at their final confrontation with the Integrator and his evil proponents? Or will the family’s longed-for reunion take place in another dimension of time and space? Find out in this suspense-laden conclusion to the Star Trails Tetralogy.

Deluge by Daniel Diehl

Deluge by Daniel Diehl

A humbling read..

Daniel did a wonderful job in researching the story of Noah’s Ark. He went far beyond the limits in writing this book. Everyone in every culture around the world uses some sort of the story of Noah’s Ark as a lesson of obedience.

I would recommend this book to any reader that enjoys learning while they read.

Rescued from the Dark by Lynda Kaye Frazier

Exciting, Romantic…Great Read!!

When Mercedes is kidnapped by terrorists and is put into a drug-induced coma; she wakes to no memory and pregnant.

Lynda writes one thrilling exciting story-line that leaves the reader wanting more. Lynda shows the true meaning of a good story that shows the dark side of heartbreak and just how far someone will go to help someone they truly love.

I would recommend this book to any reader that likes a story that carries a good- punch line with a touch of romance and suspense.

Book Review: Baby Girl Book 2: Moonlighting in Paris

Past versus Future...which will win??

A story that could pass off as a movie scene, Elle Klass as written one amazing adventure in part 2 of the Baby Girl Series; with Justine getting a whole new start in life, she adventures off into a whole new world of love, danger, and in hopes of finding her past.

Elle Klass is an amazing author that knows how to build a storyline that captures her audience and keeps them on the edge of their seat.

I could not put this book down; I had to finish seeing what happens to the new Justine. I highly recommend this story to any reader that likes a story that is full of tense suspense and keeps the reader wanting to know what the next twist is.

WAITING IMPATIENTLY FOR BABY GIRL 3!!!

Like Moonlight at Low Tide By Nicole Quigley

Like Moonlight at Low Tide By Nicole Quigley was published September 23rd 2012. Its 247 pages.

Returns to her hometown of Anna Maria Island, Florida, Melissa Keiser knows that its wont be easy. She has mixed feelings on being back home. Part of her is happy, she has her old best friend, who's happens to be now dating one of the islands cutest guys. But so of she's happy to be back on the island. Living the island lifestyles. But Melissa is not looking forward to her old classmate, the old name calling, the way her life was. But she still can to seem to get passed or over the loved one she lost to suicide.

The characters are more then just people Nicole thought of. They all have more to them, they have layers, just like most people. I love the fact that she's relatabled but then the next she's not relatable one bit. Melissa would have to been one of my favorite characters in this story, not because she's a lead. But because of what she goes through. I enjoyed the way that the island has its own 'style'; this little bit od detail make the story better in its own way. Melissa also has problems with her family. I think that's a part that may will be able to relate to even if there family problems are different. There are may other characters I would love to talk about but I don't want to give to much away. But I do want to say that Nicole's writing style, to me, has a classic feel to it. Her style reminds me of books I use to read. I'm a hung si-fi, fantasy, kinds of story but I also love a good teen fiction book any day. This was a short story, so I took my time and read it slowly, but I could be more happier that I took time to read the amazing story.

Cress (Chapter One) Book Three in The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Cress (Chapter One) Book Three in The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. This is just a review of chapter one.
Right at the start of the story you can tell that hope of the world lies with Cress. Who is young girl trapped and forced to work for Queen Levana. For a first chapter there is a lot going on, but in a way that is easy to understand. You can tell that Cress wants to help, but there’s only so much help a young girl can do when she’s trapped. I love how the writer talks about her long hair and how the writer writes details so well. Even though I only read the first chapter I think this is going to be a great story.

The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires

The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires comes out April 1, 2014. This is an advance review.
The Most Magnificent Thing follows the story of a little girl who love’s making things and her best friend who is also her assistant, while they go on the hunt to make the most magnificent thing. She works hard, shows many different feeling as she’s on the path of making what she is thinking in her head. Once, it doesn’t work she becomes upset so, her and her assistant goes for a long walk. As the walk goes on the little girl soon realizes what she needs to do to make the most magnificent thing.
I found this book to be cute and a great story that teaches kids never to give up; no, matter what you are feeling. I like how the little girl’s assistant is her dog, it adds comedy to the story. As well as the fact that she gets upset and the kids reading the story can see that but she also find a good way to calm down. Once she does, she tries again. This is a story that many kids will enjoy reading because of the mystery of what the little girl is going to make but they are also learning too.

A New Life: Life of Recovery by Samantha Jacobey

Book Review: Samantha Jacobey

5 Star Review: Action packed, Fun, Mind-Blowing

A New Life: Life of Recovery by Samantha Jacobey, Tori’ story is one of the best I have read in a long time.

Samantha wrote this to capture the readers’ attention into a world made for Tori and she did that and more. Samantha can show a story-line that is created through great talent and excellence of writing shows her abilities to create an adventure, action packed story that continues to grow through out the book

As, Samantha builds the character of Tori slowly in her book, Tori has horrible flashbacks of her childhood with a motorcycle gang that has tormented and abused her. During Tori’s recovery, your heart will break as you read about each flashback and a smile will form on your face as Tori learns and accepts that she is finally free from Eddie and his gang, and while Tori learns what real love is through the companionship of a detective.

Samantha’s book is definitely a book I would recommend to all readers that enjoy a book that leads you on an adventurous, shadowy, dark past of a young girl. Can’t wait to read the next chapter of Tori’s life!

“Long Tail, Short Tail,” written by Rachael A. Snead

“Long Tail, Short Tail,” written by Rachael A. Snead illustrated by Laurie Barrows. Rachael Snead is a children’s author and poet who lives in Virginia with her husband and adopted son; who’s her source of her creative ideas. She is also a member of the Virginia Writer’s Club.
Mama Chipmunk tells the story of how their Little Squirrel how he/she became a part of their family. How they had what Little Squirrel needed to live a happy life; which is what Mama Squirrel wanted. The book says, “You are my brown baby and I am your grey Mama. I have a long tail and you have a short tail. You have black eyes and I have brown eyes and I will love you ‘till the end of forever.” Talking about how they are different but they love each other no matter what. In the story Papa Chipmunk tells the little Squirrel that it’s okay to be upset and mad. And the Little Squirrel is, but then becomes happy. The illustrations are colorful and well done. They show emotions that children can see and understand. The illustrations show what the writer is telling.
Reading “Long Tail, Short Tail” was a joy. I loved the sweetness in this story. It’s a story that I believe adopted children would love and can understand. Children can relate to and know that they are loved by both sides in this story. The colors in the story work well with the words being read. It’s lovable, cute chipmunk and squirrel story that children of many ages will enjoy hearing.

Fury (The Fury Trilogy, #1) By Elizabeth Miles

Fury (The Fury Trilogy, #1) By Elizabeth Miles 370 pages, Published August 30th 2011.
Takes place in a small town in Maine over winter break. Emily likes a guy who happens to be dating her best friend. So when he starts noticing her. She’s becomes split in half; half happy that he is finally noticing her but guilty and ashamed because he’s dating her best friend.
While this is happing on the other side of the small town, Chase is dealing with a hard home life and his social life is unraveling. He knows one mess up and he’ll be at the bottom. On top of that Chase has done something cruel, wrong.
Three mysterious girls shows up to make the choice of who will pay, Emily, the girl who’s betraying her friend or Chase the one who did something wrong? So who will pay?
This book was an okay read. At first I got into it but after a bit I just found myself not really in to it. Maybe, it’s just an off book. I like the ideas behind it but I don’t read many books that have to do with ‘ghost’ kind of things. I think it would have better read if there wasn’t so much going at one; it was hard to follow. Then some parts would be slow. I give it a three out of five.

The Messenger by Mindy Haig

The Messenger by Mindy Haig is available at many eBooks stores. (Links below) The Messenger is a 69 page book published by Breakwater Harbor Books in June 24, 2013. This book is mythology and Christian religions.
In Albany, Georgia around in the 1960’s and time of Martin Luther King Jr. A mission I (Sammael) would have the chance to redeem himself. A small redemption means a lot to him as to the one he wronged so many years ago; the only soul he’s meant more then once in a life time. But in the world he now lives in is different then the one he knew. He wishes to see his father’s (a child of God who was cast out for being imperfect) work in the working and see it for himself and the chance to embrace a new life and to with sustain The Messenger. But while doing that it may not go the way he thought; would then leave him wishing for something total different.
I found this to be a good read; its only 69 pages witch is a quick read but is worth it. I love the wittiness, Southern drawl, classic dialogue between the characters. But what I enjoyed most was how Sammael, deals with similar struggles as mortals. I enjoyed how it isn’t just a Christian story but I love story. This is a book that is more deep then you think but once you start read you’ll not won’t to put it down.
